Tah/mmk 9 weeks Ago Kept Cervix & Ovaries,having Period?

Hi everyone! Tah/mmk for bladder 9weeks ago. Kept ovaries and cervix. I called gyno the other day as I started some cramping and had a light period for 5 days. I looked at calender and it would have been my time to have a period. He said that keeping the cervix could stimualte, with the ovaries too, a light period each month. I wasen't informed of this before surgery and if I knew this, I would have removed cervix. He said to keep and eye on it, to make sure not bleeding heavy again. He said if it happens for 6 months, then I would have to have cervix out! Surgery again, this time through vagina. Now he wasen't the gyno who explained about keeping the cervix when I asked, his partner did, but she didn't tell me this could happen. I am upset. Has anyone kept their cervix and ovaries and had this problem where they had to go back and have cervix removed? Please let me know, thank you, Tammy ^j^

Hi bassguitar
I just replied to another post from a member with a similar problem of having a miniperiod when she really wasn't expecting it. It's so unfortunate when the drs don't adequately warn you about what might happen when you keep your cervix. There are benefits on both sides of keeping and not keeping your cervix.
You do have the chance that they will stop. They often taper off in time and become very light or completely go away. You'll have to decide if they are bad enough that you want to go through another surgery. I would give it some time and see what happens.
Some women successfully have the lining cauterized when the bleeding is more than they want to deal with. Ask about your options, and give it a little time.
I'm sorry you're having to deal with it when you weren't prepared for it.
