3 months post op for total hysterectomy and still swollen

I had a total abdominal hysterectomy (with a hernia repair and tummy tuck thrown in) and am still swollen and sore after 3 months. I was told I'd be all done with this in 8 weeks but that is not at all the case. I am working out but it really hurts when I do and when I walk a long distance (like I used to all the time) my incision begins to ache and really hurts at each end. Is anyone else experiencing this? I know I was mislead by my doctor's projection of 8 weeks.

I had a LAVH 6 months ago & I am sorry to say that I get swelly belly on a daily basis. Docs can be very misleading. Mine told me that I would be back to 100% by the end of week 2 post op. Ummm hello, I am 6 months post op and still not 100%. You had alot done so it is no wonder that you are still sore. Listen to your body! Sounds like you are doing too much too soon. It may be frustrating but slow down a bit so you don't hurt yourself. I have realized that time is your friend here and b-4 you know it you will be back to normal. Be kind and patient to yourself.
