Best time of cycle for hyst ? Quit taking pill ?

Whats the best time in your cycle for hyst and do I quit taking the pill before surgery ? And how far in advance of surgery do I quit with advil ?

I was told to stop taking Advil and like meds at my preop, which was Monday, so 8 days ahead for me. But it's different for every doc, so check at your preop appt or call the nurse. As far as a "best time of the cycle" I haven't heard anything in particular, and my doc doesn't even care what part of my cycle I'm in and the surgery, they'd just give you a pad to wear in prep. I have been bleeding since dec 5th though, so I don't think she's going to wait for it to stop. I don't think it will make a difference regardless though, because your ovaries can go through a temporary "shut down" after the shock of the surgery anyway, so it may reset your cycle no matter where you are in it. Hope this helps, but someone on here probably has much better answer because I'm still waiting to see how the surgery goes;-)

The doctor will give you a long list of instructions, including what prescriptions, OTC meds, vitamins and supplements to stop taking. Iburprofen and asprin will definitely be on that list as they thin your blood. Normally, these are stopped about two weeks before surgery. But, please inform your doctor about all of the drugs you are taking so they know.

I was told to stop taking Advil and a huge list of other stuff two weeks before my surgery. This is not my favorite time in this process. I miss my midol. I am laying with a heating pad right now.
