Entertaining after hysterectomy can be tiring

Yesterday, two friends from work came over to visit (my first visit since my surgery 25 days ago - they know I like privacy to recuperate). They asked on Wednesday if they could come, I said yes, they stayed an hour, we laughed a little, they brought me up-to-date on work gossip (and brownies and homemade mac & cheese ).. My husband provided a small cheese and cracker tray (I didn't even ask him - I really love the guy!) After they left, I was exhausted...and I didn't do anything but sit and talk and listen! I am so glad I didn't let anyone come visit before this, I probably would have fallen asleep on them. Just goes to show that no matter how I think I feel, my body knows best, and what I need to do is little things between resting. An hour visit..fine, if followed by a nap. Running the marathon (or doing housework, they're about the same thing right now) - nope. But it's getting better, and I do believe I am finally on the other side of the hurdle. If I keep taking it easy and don't push it, I'm pretty sure I'm going to be fine. Yea!
