Hello! Upcoming hysterectomy

Hello everyone,

I was referred to the site from a friend of mine and she said that it was very helpful throughout her process. I am 30 and my surgery is scheduled for March. I have had two ablations, a D&C to removed a mass, multiple endometriosis lesions removed twice, and a tubal all within 2 and a half years. Im sliently freaking out about this and im not sure if its more because of the pain or the emotional aspect of it. I can't figure out which is more intense right now... I just don't know how to process it all even though I have had so much done already.

I am so glad your friend referred you.

Your feelings, emotions, fears, nerves and freakouts are completely normal. This is one difficult surgery to digest and process. It does not matter that you have been through so much already. This is such an intimate surgery. It is very hard to lose your uterus, something that has made its presence known to you, for better or worse, for decades. And now this is being taken from you - of course you are having a hard time processing this! Of course you are in freakout mode and very upset. All of this is okay - have patience with yourself. This will take time.

I know it is so hard to know where to begin. There is much information on this site, but you may start by going to our pre-op page.

Ask what questions you have and we will try to answer them for you. Or, just get on the site and express your emotions like you did. This really helps.

Just know that you are not alone in any of this. We are here for you, and understand what you are going through.
