Bleeding after D&C Hysteroscopy

I had mine on Thursday and had little to no bleeding Thursday and Friday however yesterday began to bleed bright red blood and have a little cramping if it can be called that it's more like shrap pin pricks in my abdomine. I am bleeding as much as when I had my worst periods and was using a tampon and a pad at once. I went to church this morning and changed before I left 45 minutes in I had to excuse myself to change as i knew if I didn't I would bleed through... I guess my question is how much is too much and how long should this go on for... My issue was no bleeding for months then huge heavy cycle then nothing for 2 or three months and it would start all over again... I am starting to question what is normal anymore...

Re: Bleeding after D&C Hysteroscopy

Hi I just had a DC on Monday last week and had pretty heavy bleeding the first 2 days then moderate bleeding now I'm down to spotting. Dr. happened to call me yesterday to give me my results (benign yes!) and said that it is totally normal to have a good bit of bleeding for up to 2 weeks. Also had and still have some cramping which is getting milder. I also had pretty swollen ankels and feet but that's subsided now as well. Hang in there.

Re: Bleeding after D&C Hysteroscopy

I went into OR for my hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, and D&C, came out bleeding, and kept bleeding right into OR for my hysterectomy. I was in touch with my GYN to be sure I was okay. If you have concerns, please check with your doctor to be sure the amount of bleeding you are experiencing is okay for you!

in there!

Re: Bleeding after D&C Hysteroscopy

Thank you for sharing... I am hoping my doctor will call with the results. He never did with my CT results and I waited almost 4 weeks and in his office it is posted that he does not give out test results on the phone.... so I don't know what to expect. Will he call me or will he make me wait until follow up... the feedback is that he is a great doctor but the communication seems to be missing somewhat.. I don't know it is just not knowing since I was only told to make my 6 week follow-up app't. I just wish I knew what to expect. If this is nothing and is benign I would hope he will still call and tell me that... I know I am just worrying about stuff to keep from going crazy....

Re: Bleeding after D&C Hysteroscopy

I should also mention they gave me the wrong info sheet when I was leaving the hospital that did not talk at all about D&C but rather about ablation which is not what I had done ... lol

Re: Bleeding after D&C Hysteroscopy

Weiser above is absolutely right and I was actually thinking about you on my way to work this morning - if you are concerned, why worry about it? Just give your doctor a call. I also wouldn't wait and worry about your results. Remember you are the customer here! If it gives you peace of mind, I wouldn't hesitate to call and tell the office staff you are concerned and want to talk with the doctor. My doctor is female. I really feel like that makes a difference in empathy but I'm sure there are fantastic male doctors out there too. Male or female, they should all be willing to hear and discuss your concerns. I hope by today you are feeling much better

Re: Bleeding after D&C Hysteroscopy

I thought about it and did pick up the phone today, however they are closed on fridays which means they took today as their statuatory holiday for Canada Day and were closed today as well. All I got was the voice mail and I can't be bothered leaving a message. I'll call tommorrow. Tomorrow will mark 5 days since surgery though two of those are weekend days who knows maybe I will be lucky and they willhave some reults although he does say he won't give them on the phone. Today was a bit better of a day still bleeding but managed to take my 10 year old to the mall for about an hourto spend her birthdya money and have an ice cream so it was an ok day!

Thank you for thinking about me...
