19cm fibroid :/

Has anyone dealt with a fibroid as large as this (or close)?

Mine grew from 15-19cm while I was pregnant with my now 18 month old... OBGYN said she had never had a patient conceive and carry to full term with a fibroid that size. They couldn't remove it during the c-section, so it's still there... (I'm done having kids)

I don't have heavy periods, never did. I didn't even know I had fibroids!

I'm seeing the same doc today to talk options. Im a single mom with four kids, so whatever surgery I have, I'll have to be back on my feet ASAP. I'm
also scared of unknown medications and I'm still breastfeeding my littlest.

Guess I'm just looking for some "yes that was me and it all turned out awesome" stories lol ;-)

Wow that's a very large fibroid! Did you have an MRI, or did your gyn measure it during your c-section?

I had some large fibroids removed via myomectomy and read about even larger ones than yours being removed that way too. I think it just depends on the skill of the surgeon. Google "Fibroid Second Opinion" - first web site that comes up is the one. Scroll down to Fibroid Photos. There are some ladies on there who had like watermelon sized fibroids successfully removed. Crazy photos though, not for the faint of heart. But I'm guessing with 4 kids you've seen it all! :-)
