Putting on weight - getting me down.

Hi ladies,
Well, it has been 4 months now since my op. My body changes are good in some ways - like no pain, however, something has changed which has made me suddenly have an allergic reaction to chocolate (or the ingredients that is in choc). Never had this before. I have noticed that I am putting on weight, and other than not eating chocolate, I am not eating or exercising any differently. It is really getting me down. Has anyone else had this happen and what did you do? Should I see a dietician.
Kind regards

Re: Putting on weight - getting me down.

Hi jna yes I'm just over 5 months & struggling to keep weight stable. Always been thin as a hurdle but put on half a stone after op, reckoned it was HRT, but could be going straight into menopause like that so suddenly or giving up smoking! Whatever the cause I'm doing twice as much exercise as before the op & have almost veggie diet now just to keep at 9 stone. Hoping the excess will shed when swelly belly does by 12 months! Hang in there sister we'll return to our silph like selves eventually xx

Re: Putting on weight - getting me down.

I am about 3 months out from TAH & have gained about 10lbs... I am exhausted & on other meds for bad discs in my neck, therefore the exhaustion is worsened by the meds. I can't loose anything & can't even get started on excercise due to everything.
Very frustrating & need to force myself to loose it - I too wonder if my hormones (which I kept) aren't functioning or are working too much???? Unsure, but all I do know is happy about no more period running my life, but not about the weight gain!

Re: Putting on weight - getting me down.

Too right! We've been given a second chance, dodged a bullet, & I truly believe when we've finished healing this extra size will fall off. Just keep drinking loads of water & walking & taking everything else very carefully indeed, & all will be well. I think it seems to take longer for us TAH sisters, but we WILL get there honest

Re: Putting on weight - getting me down.

Thank you sisters,
I will keep perservering, but you are right, I should be grateful that I am no longer suffering from of the pain/bleeding that caused me to have the H to start with. I guess as I am feeling good in that department, I imagined that I would have everything else would be as normal.
