Less than 3 days to go!

Ok I'm less than 3 days until my LAVH/poss TAH and I'm really starting to second guess all this. I keep thinking "Hey, this isn't a life or death situation so why would I want to do this!!" I know exactly why but it still keeps going through my mind. I'm trying to get the house in order and get last minute things done outside the house but I just don't seem to have enough time or energy. I have to work Monday and Tuesday so that knocks those days out. I have met a wonderful friend on this website (Smoothie43tx - Donna) and she has helped tremendously by talking to me on the AIM. She has done so good and I'm so happy for her. I just wish this was over with. I have to quit thinking that something bad is going to happen. That is my biggest fear. I'm not a very optimistic person when it comes right down to it. My husband and 16 year old son have tried their best to help and I'm very thankful for both of them. Anyway I'm sure I'll be back again before Wednesday! Thank you for being here and I look forward to crossing that fence and being able to tell all the girls how much better I feel after it's all over with!

Less than 3 days to go!

MarleneO, we are having surgery on the same day. If you read my post from earlier today, you'll see that I was starting to be a basket case. I, too, have to work Monday and Tuesday, so I know what you are going through.

Just remember that the most important thing is your health and healing. Whatever housework doesn't get done is not going to matter in the whole scheme of things. I'm glad you have a supportive husband and son with you.

You and I are going to be fine. Let's take some deep breaths together.

Love,

Less than 3 days to go!

((((MarleneO and Jane))))

It is very normal to be nervous and to second guess yourselves by the time you are about to head to the castle.

Just think: for you, the wait is almost over. It IS the worst part.

Come in as often as you want and be sure to arm yourselves with information, chocolates and candies when you head for the castle. Also take with you the certainty that your Hyster Sisters will be there with you.

You might want to visit the chat room, since it is the place to meet both Ladies in Waiting and Post Op Princesses who are available to offer support as well as to receive it.

(((((hugs)))))

Less than 3 days to go!

Marlene:

I feel the same way. I second guess myself all day every day and I think I will do it up until the point that they knock me out. It is all nerves though. You have many people in your corner that support you and that is what I meditate on. Without my sisters and this site, I would have probably backed out...Trust in God, your doctor and yourself....You will do fine.

2nd guessing is normal

I'd just like to reassure all of you that 2nd guessing is very NORMAL. I think all of us have been there. For me, I really had a tough time as I walked in the hospital. But then, the nurses were soooo good with me. I just kept thinking how I suffered for so many years with horrible periods. I then focused on how much better I would feel as so many of my friends had been through this not to mention all the hystersisters. I'm glad I'm here at this point and not still suffering.

Best wishes,

Thank you

Thank you all so much for the encouragement. I'm trying not to second guess so much now. I went to get pre admitted this morning and now I worry about them finding something wrong with my bloodwork or my urinalysis. Isn't that crazy!! Also one of the docs I work for says I need to discuss the fact that I had some problems either with ansthesia or the morphine when I had my gallbladder out several years ago. My blood pressure bottomed out. So that's something else to think about. Anyway I'm on my way to countdown!
Thanks again very much!!
