Shall I head out?
Today is day 12 since my SAH, feeling ok, bit sore when I initially stand up but otherwise good. Is is ok to head out now? As in go to the shops (being driven by someone else of course!), out for a coffee or to wander through a nursery? I've been home from the hospital 6 days and have been going by the book and doing nothing, including not leaving the house. I'm now REALLY bored!! You gals are full of good advice so shall I call a friend to take me out??

Unless your doctor objects, I would think that you would be OK to venture out now. Kudos for being so good and not over doing things! I would definately keep it short, however, and don't be surprised if you are pretty worn out by a relatively short outing. Good luck, and have fun! -Joy

Shall I head out?
I headed out to church at 11 days, DH drove. Was out for about an hour and a half, but by the last 15 minutes I was done. Came home, took a pain pill and stayed in bed for the rest of the day. Was nice to get out. The next time I went out was to the doctor at 13 days, took some advil before I left, still could only deal with about and hour before I was looking to lie down.

Shall I head out?
Thanks girls, it's a beautiful spring day here in Sydney, nice and warm with the sun shining. I feel like I'm missing out on so much being cooped up in here. It's 1pm, I've watched a dvd already, 14 yr old DS has gone out , 12 yr old DS playing Xbox and no one for mum to play with!! Think I'll go make that call.......

Shall I head out?
On day 10 post-op I went to the Doctor and then lunch with a girlfriend, she drove me I am still not cleared to drive. I was gone 4 hours, by the time I got home I was a little shakey and then very tired. I went out again today for a couple of hours to go grocery shopping, post office and the bank. I am completely bored bored bored. I have already informed my son he is taking me to lunch tomorrow and probably to the mall. My Doctor told me I could ride in the car but no driving.

Shall I head out?
I will be 4 weeks on Tuesday(can't believe it's been that long already!) and I still tire very easily. This morning we went to visit my MIL and my GMIL. It's about an hour ride one way. After about an hour of being there, I was exhausted and ready to come home. Just the thought of another hour in the truck made me cringe. My MIL said to me "You look so good I almost forgot you just had surgery!" I wanted soooooooo bad to say I might "look good" on the outside but I'm exhausted, irritable, moody, and NOT in any way capable of dealing with anyone's crap today! But no, I just smile and tell her thank you! Grrrrrr

Shall I head out?
Well I am on the same day as you and have been to the Dr twice and out to dinnner once. Even the short drive, I mean ride can really wear you out. It was nice to be out of the house though. I was going to start walking outside next week but not sure how much would be too much. Guess since it is winter here in Michigan I won't be out too long. I know just being up doing things around the house makes me real sore.
Enjoy the beautiful weather

Shall I head out?
Well I went out and am back.... knackered!!!! (which is Aussie for stuffed!). I went to a nursery, to Hungry Jacks and then to the fruit market. It involved getting in and out of the car 3 times. I am glad I went out but am exhausted... and sore. I pulled off my steristrips today (my scar has subcutaneous dissolvable stitches) and now it's itchy itchy!!! Above the scar is numb but the incision itself is too tender to scratch. Any suggestions? I will take it easy tomorrow....
