pain when bladder is full

Hi
I had a partial and cystocele on 12/5/12. When my bladder is full it iis extremely painful. I cant hold it for very long. As a school teacher we have to hold it for a long time. Will this get better over time? I cant leave my classroom that often.

I have the same problem and found out I have a bladder infection which is why it hurts. You may want to call you doc or the doctors nurse and see what's going on

Re: pain when bladder is full

The bladder is very sensitive after this surgery. It gets put to sleep and moved around quite a bit, which will make it angry.
It should get better with time, but making sure you don't have a UTI is also very important. You don't want to try to force yourself to hold it, but you may need to retrain your bladder some. I understand you won't be able to leave your classroom very often, but your bladder will not leave you a choice. Maybe you can ask for a teachers Aid for a little while if need be? Try drinking lots of water. Try to avoid large amounts of caffeine if you are a coffee drinker, and this one is really hard, but try to be patient with your healing.

HUGS SISTER, bladder issues are no fun and can try your nerves to no end.

If you call your doctor's office, they may have you come in for a urine sample to check for a UTI. I live 2 1/2 hrs from my gyn and twice I've had to have my urine checked (once before the surgery and one afterwards). She would rather have it checked and treated. You don't want to let a UTI sit around untreated (thats what they told me). I'd see if you could get it checked before your Wed visit.
