Disordered endometrial proliferation, what does this mean?

My histopathology report says I had disordered endometrial proliferation, can you please explain what that means? My surgeon just said all was ok and benign, and couldn't wait to get me out of his office , so I'm very curious and confused right now ... He didn't even examine me ! I had total LAVH plus BSO 6 weeks ago. Thank you so much for any answers .Julie

Re: Disordered endometrial proliferation, what does this mean?

Hi!
I don't know if I can explain just what the term means but that's also what's on my report. As I understand it my diagnosis was hyperlasia (uncontrolled growth of the endometrium) which may or may not be cancerous. In my case, it was treated as pre-cancerous as I have a strong family history of cancer-Mom had endometrial, Dad had colon, his sister had colon, his brother had esophageal, another sister had lung, and their dad had colon, and there's also some more on Mom's side. I had RAVH/BSO to make sure everything was good. All I managed to find on the internet about the term was that the endometrium grows more than it should--at least the best I could understand it. I also had a polyp and a number of fibroids that were probably shrinking down as I was post menopausal. I'm just glad it's over and I don't have to worry about those particular forms of cancer.
Hope I helped a little
