Feeling Foolish

My period was really late and yesterday I developed severe pains on the right side. I have a history of ectopic pregnancy so of course that was in the back of my mind. Today I couldn't stay at work because of the pain and discomfort just on my right side. So I spoke to a nurse and she agreed I could get a blood test done to rule out pregnancy. As I sit here waiting for the results, wouldn't you know it, I get my period. Nice. Now I feel foolish for not just waiting it out. At least now I know that it's just a cyst rupturing and nothing more. I'm going to feel really stupid when they actually call me. Oh well.

Re: Feeling Foolish

Don't feel foolish Here4Health. You had every reason to be concerned. It would have been more foolish to find out during your pre-op tests. I hope your pain is better. ((hugs))

Re: Feeling Foolish

They give you a pregnancy test during pre-op, or at least they did with me. Quite funny when you are 52 years old!

Re: Feeling Foolish

No worries it's always better safe than sorry.

My DH also thought it was funny for my doc to ask if I was sure I didn't plan to have more children...with 4 grown and out of the house he was like "we are REALLY sure"
