Re: allergy meds?

I could take my Allegra up until surgery. Not sure on others but my dr gave it the greenlight.
I almost forgot I take Singulair too and he OK'ed that one as well. Definitely put a call in just to be safe.
Good Luck!

Re: allergy meds?

I had to call my dr because I had a flare up 3 days beforehand and was told yes. I would still double check with your own dr though. Good luck!

Re: allergy meds?

I took singular, Zyrtec, nasal spray, and my control inhaler the night before surgery, and continued while in hospital. They told me to bring my short-acting inhaler(albuterol) with me. Good thing, cause my allergies are terrible if they're not controlled. Do call your doc but that's what they had me do. Good luck!

Re: allergy meds?

Yes. My doctor advises to start taking my allergy meds at night so that I can take them the night before surgery. I have severe allergies and am on allergy shots weekly, and daily take zyrtec, patanase, pataday, and flonase and have always taken them all right up to the night before my surgeries (3 c-sections) and will again with this hyster.

Re: allergy meds?

I was told not to take my allergy medicine the day prior to surgery because it would dry me out to much.

Re: allergy meds?

I was told I could take benedryl and zyrtek... I get ear infections when I stop taking them. I would be a mess if I was off them. :-)
