Surgery Question
Hi all!!
I am scheduled for a TAH-BSO hopefully with epidural anesthesia (I see the Dr. on the 7th). My question is approximately how long were any of you in surgery? I know that a lot has to do with adhesions, fibroid removal etc. but I am trying to get this straight in my head. I have heard 1 hour to 5 hours and just wanted to see how you all did/
Thank you,
Regina

Hi Regina,
I had same procedure done and was in surgery for an hour and a half. And then I was in recovery for another hour or so. HOpe this alleviates any of your anxieties.
Best of luck to you

Surgery Question
I had a tah/bso and was in surgery for about 2 hours. It does seem to vary a bit depending on what all needs to be done and the reason for the hyst. Hopefully your dr will be abvle to give you an estimate when you see him/her.

Surgery Question
It was just over 2 hours for me. The doctor had "reserved" the operating room for 2 hours and 45 minutes. The operation actually took a bit longer than she expected because the fibroids had grown a little too quickly. The surgery started promptly at 11:30 AM and I was wheeled into my room at 3:30 in the afternoon. Seemed like 10 minutes to me---I had general anesthesia.
Good Luck!
Cathy

Surgery Question
My doctor told me the average time is 2 hours. However, once inside he found a lot of disease, so mine ended up being 3.5 hours.
