Bleeding and cramping

Ok so I know I've overdone it this week but I also needed to know if this has happened to anyone else. I've had zero bleeding or spotting since day one. I've got this orange fluid, some had seen me talk about before, that leaks vaginally as well as from my incision but that's it. This morning I'm really crampy and have bright red bleeding.

I just hung up with my nurse and she said its relatively normal. Is it?? She also said if I soak through two pads today I need to call her immediately. Those of you with the same type as mine, did you spot or bleed just randomly weeks out? Thanks ladies!

Re: Bleeding and cramping

I did not spot or bleed until two and a half weeks post op. I then started bleeding profusely. I was soaking a heavy pad an hour with bright red blood and filling the toilet for 8 hours. Long story short, the cauterizing procedure they tried in the ER and 2 surgeries later to repair the vaginal cuff and surrounding tissues, finally stopped it. The original surgery was done robotically da Vinci. I now spot a small pad per day, watery and pinkish, and told it will last for 6 weeks.

Please put your feet up, and if it continues like I described, call your doctor right away!

Re: Bleeding and cramping

I'm 2.5 weeks now! Mine was through vertical abdominal incision. I'd never even heard about a vaginal cuff til coming here. Did you feel a lot of pain when you tore or just cramping and bleeding?

Re: Bleeding and cramping

They are not sure if I tore or the sutures were defective to begin with. I was not in any more pain than normal post op, just bleeding heavy, cramping and large clots coming out vaginally. I did start doing some light house keeping but that is about it. I am still on bed rest from the latest surgery and in worse condition than the first time around. Anemic from all the blood loss.

Please take care of yourself.

Re: Bleeding and cramping

I think the fatigue is from being anemic. If you're not that's great. I barely escaped a blood transfusion and now I'm taking iron and vitamin c to absorb it quicker to prevent it. I can tell its working because I've been laying on the couch all day and haven't taken the first nap. Lol

Larks27, that's terrible and I'll be sure to watch for all of that.
