5 wks post-op - no more cowboy walk!!

When I was still in hospital my husband helped me get to the toilet. I was walking beside him, holding his hand and looked exactly like one of those chimpanzees or orang utans you see being led around by a human! All bow legged and hunched up. I hope I'm looking better now!

Ya, I know that walk too, in fact a neighbour pointed it out to me one day early on. I realized during a walk yesterday, that my walk has changed to almost normal, but still not quite at the normal pace.

take care ladies

Congratulations Cowgirl! I walk more like a bitty old lady-all hunched down and tiny steps. I am also 5 weeks post-op and yesterday finally ventured for a walk to my DD's school.

Do you find that your thigh/leg muscles are more tired versus 2-3 weeks post-op? Maybe I just didn't notice the muscular pain before since I was concentrating more on the surgery/abdominal pain. I haven't really increased my activity that much since.

HysterBoo - I really didn't notice any tired leg muscles early on. I've been constantly walking since the day after surgery. Doctor had me walking 10 laps around the nurse's station the day after surgery. I know that may sound extreme, but I broke it up into 3 separate trips a day. Now I am so glad she had me up walking right away. I now take hour long walks during the day.

Take Care.
