Four months later, still pulling, burning sensations at belly button..

Sept. 23 of last year I had a partial vaginal hysterectomy and gallbladder removal surgeries. Now four months later upon doing certain things, sometimes just standing up or stretching I can feel a pulling and burning sensation on the upper left part of my belly button close to my scar site from the surgery. My surgeon says that it's not a hernia and if it continues she wants me to have a ct scan. I can barely afford the medical bills left over, let alone a thousand dollar ct scan! I thought I would feel better than this by now, with the early onset menopause and now this I feel like Im going nuts. I am regretting having the surgery at all. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, what causes it. It's not all the time, but when it happens it hurts and it scares me. There is no way I can afford to have anything else done right now. Im just so tired of all this. Thanks for listening!

Re: Four months later, still pulling, burning sensations at belly button..

Amy,
I had numbness and burning tingling in my incision area for quite some time post op. Full recovery from a hysterectomy can take up to a year.

Re: Four months later, still pulling, burning sensations at belly button..

Maybe you need to rest up. I was talking to my mum today she had a full hysto ovaries removed by emergency 25 years ago and yes she went through what we are plus menopause too. We were talking about pains ect as she asked how I was. I am nearly 3 weeks post op she said even now after all these years she will get pain if she has over done it. But it took a year for 3 people I know to get back to near normal. And you have had a gall bladder done too Don't expect too much it's major surgery

Thanks for the responses, yes Ive heard it can take up to a year to completely heal. It's just weird that I haven't felt anything like that in months, then all of a sudden it starts and now it's better again...sigh..suppose it's a work in progress. Thanks again everyone!! It is appreciated!!!
