3 days post hysterectomy: nervous about going home - should I let them discharge me?

Had my 5 hr surgery on mon. Catheter is out and I can use the bathroom I'm very happy I won't need to wear the catheter home! They r talking about dischargin me today. I'm nervous about going home, but really feel like I need 1 more night. Should I push the issue to try to stay or push myself and let them discharge me??

I had a tah on a Monday and they released me the next day. I thought I would be there 4 days. Honestly I feel like the hospital was overcrowded and understaffed. So I stayed with my mom for a few days and got such better rest than I would have in the hospital. I was nervous about going home too soon but it ended out working out better. If you are having complications then stay. If you feel ok to walk by yourself to the bathroom and back you may be ready. Go with your gut!

Why are you worried about going home? Are you having trouble controlling your pain, or are you just nervous? I went home next day and was really happy to do it! Sleeping in my own bed and taking a shower in my own bathroom were deluxe! Have you practiced getting up and walking around? If you can do that, you should be fine.
