TVH Best decision I ever made

I had my vaginal hysterectomy/cystocele repair on Feb. 18th. We live in a small community to had to travel to the city two days prior to surgery. My dh became very ill on the flight with the flu...I was terrified that I would have to go through this all alone! Lucky my son and daugher-in-law live here, so my son took to me the hospital for my 7:15 scheduled surgery. Surgery was pushed back all day, and finally happened at 4:30 pm. I was very groggy when i got to my room, and had a difficult night with nauseau and low blood presssure issues. Yesterday was lots of gas pain, but managed to get up and walk around the ward a few times. This morning, the foley was removed, and dr said if could pee I could to home, if not then foley back in and another day. Please understand that I have been unable to fully empty my bladder for the past two years, as the cystocele was so bad. So lots of nerves when the foley was removed. They gave me an hour to pee. When it happened, I was doing the happy dance! I was released around noon and have been resting in the hotel. We will fly home day after tomorrow. Every time I pee I can't help but smile. Hope this great road to recovery continues. Good luck to all of you out there.

I can imagine the joy that ur feeling... Am happyfor u! I had my hysterectomy on jan 23th n everything went well besides losing 1 of my ovaries. Finally no more bleeding... It's been yrs w/ this issue but it's over now! Am 36yrs old w/ no possibility of having kids of my own but am not lossing sleep over it either. Enjoy my sis, as I'll be doing the same. To God be the glory!
