FINALLY booked hyst. for adeno
Hello again sisters!!
I finally booked my surgery date after suffering and trying everything possible. I am really scared but I know (and hope) that it is the only definitive cure. I would really like to hear from other ladies who have had hyst. due to adenomyosis so I have some idea of what to expect. (hopefully relief from back pain and hormonal symptoms)
I hope I have made the right decision. I am very grateful that I found this wonderful website where we can all communicate regarding our experiences. Hope to hear from you soon!!!

Adeno/deciding on hyst.(nervous)
Babay,
Congrats on finally making the decision. That and the waiting till the surgery is the hardest. I had my surgery on Sept 12th. I took only my uterus (adenomyosis) and kept my ovaries. While in there they also took out more endo. I am two days shy of two weeks post op. Yes, I have had some (not too bad) pain post surgery, However, I do NOT have that constant lower back ache that I ALWAYS had due to my adenomyosis. I know that the surgery was a good thing and I can already tell the difference even though I am still early in recovery.
I was a huge chicken about surgery but it all went well and recovery has gone pretty well.
Good luck and if you have any questions feel free to ask!!

Adeno/deciding on hyst.(nervous)
Hello Doodlebee
Good to hear from you and that you are feeling better already. I can use all the reassurance that I can get right now. I am glad that I am going to have the surgery, But scared too. I hope I can keep my ovaries and concerned that I will still have the back pain. I am just trying to think positive. Please keep in touch and let me know how you are doing. Thanks...

Adeno/deciding on hyst.(nervous)
Hi Babay,
Glad to hear you are doing ok. I really think you will be relieved after your surgery and recovery....I am 6 months post op now and doing great! I have very little back pain any longer (pre surgery I was going to a chiropractor about every 3 weeks and took rx meds, since surgery I have not been back to the chiropractor, and take an occasional tylenol) and no pelvic pressure and not having a painful, very heavy period every month is heaven! The only thing I have noticed since surgery is fatigue...I am still tired, but it does seem to be getting better, and I have been having a really hard time getting motivated to stay in the pool exercising....I think because I am tired but I am working on it every day! Other than that, I really do feel super!
Best wishes to you!! You should really feel like a new woman when this is over! I know I do!

Adeno/deciding on hyst.(nervous)
Babay,
I have a scheduled hysterectomy for Nov 29. They are suspecting adeno - been having constant pain for months and my periods are getting longer and mostly clotting. I hope this is what I need!! I just started lupron today to see if it will get rid of the pain. The doc says if it does, then they will know it if hormonal and having my uterus out should cure it. Have you tried lupron? It's comforting to know there are others like me out there!

Adeno/deciding on hyst.(nervous)
Hello Mon Lee
From my experience (and a long one) I have tried: Depoprovera needles, Lupron needles, Had uterine embolization done, have a mirena hormone release iud in now. Bleeding improved over 6 month period after everything I tried, but then back to square one. CONSTANT pain is now my issue.
Also I have had to go through alot of side effects from playing around with my hormones. have you had a MRI ? I beleive that its the only test (besides them finding it after hyst.) that can show adenomyosis. (they always thought I had fibroids, judging from ultrasounds) until I had a MRI before doing embolization. Hope this helps and hope to hear from you again

Babey,
They are not doing an MRI - just going to do the Lupron. Day 3 of the injection and I really do feel normal and sometimes think the pain has been better the last day but you are suppose to get an estrogen surge so I don't know why I would feel better?? They started me the day of my period. I went from knife stabbing cramping to hardly having a period. Nice to talk to another Canadian here - I'm from Calgary.
