I shaved my legs!

12 days post op and I shaved my legs I have never had such hairy legs in all of my life

Apparently we use a lot of ab muscles while shaving our legs, I was very, very careful and just sat on the side of the tub with my feet in the water, had to bend over a little to get to my ankles.

anybody else hair free ???

I shaved my legs!

Angie, I had surgery the same day as you and I know what you mean about the hairy leg thing! I used an electric razor and sat in a soft wing-back chair with my leg up on the ottoman. It wasn't a close shave, but felt better than leaving it long.

How are you doing otherwise? I am feeling very good, drinking my water, taking little walks and resting, too.

Enjoy your smooth legs!

I shaved my legs!

Hi maggiemay - I think I am doing pretty good. I still have the steri-strips on (staples were removed Wed). They are itching like crazy, but I am scared for them to be off. I feel like they are holding me "together", lol.

I am walking short distances, drinking water and the only pain I have is a few sharp stabby pains every once in a while, not sure what that is about. And of course when I have to have a BM, it is gassy pains.

I think I am going to go for a little drive tomorrow, maybe a few miles, just to feel it out. My dr said I can drive at 2 weeks, but I am going stir crazy!!

Great to talk with you!

I shaved my legs!

And I thought I was the only one I waited 25 days after my surgery to shave my legs and it was nasty the clumps of hair coming of the razor feels so fresh after you shave like a whole new woman! Amazing huh?!? As for the steri strips I was given the ok for them to be off 2 weeks post op I just took them off lastnight because they were coming off anyways and even though I have had 2 abdominal surgeries before this time I was more nervous about taking them off so I kept them on as long as possible plus I have my 4wk follow up tomorrow and I would be embaressed to still have them on LMAO!

delegating

I had my DH shave my legs right after surgery. I sat in a lawn chair in the tub, and let him do it. It was a very interesting and humbling experience-and we have been married 35 years!

I shaved my legs!

ROTFL -- I thought I was the only one who went crazy until I could shave my legs. I finally felt like I could do mine about 2 weeks post-op and it felt sooooo good! I'm an every day shaver so the hairy legs were driving me crazy (especially since I had a catheter for those 2 weeks which meant staying in shorts or a nightie so I could see (and feel!) them.

I actually tried a depilatory pre-op hoping that would make the situation not so bad -- didn't work :-( (Or maybe it did and my legs were just so hairy I didn't notice ;-)

I shaved my legs!

I also couldn't stand it any longer and had to beg DH to shave them for me! He was very reluctant because he said he was afraid of nicking me and making it bleed. I said you can't be serious, and reminded him of what I had just been through! Certainly I can handle a razor nick now.....LOL! We had a good laugh.
