After Hys..Return to Physically Demanding Job
OK...onto my next question...For all you sisters who have traveled the road before me-
After the TAH..as my job involves bending stretching..all the no-no's during recovery..what should I do..if after the doctor has released me to return to work, I find it is too much????

After Hys..Return to Physically Demanding Job
It is possible for the DR to request that you ease back into your schedule--indicating restrictions on lifting, bending, climbing, etc. and how long each restriction is supposed to last. Check with your employer and your DR.

try not to worry about that now, usually the recovery time for a TAH is 6-8 weeks, if when the time gets close to your starting work and you find yourself not feeling well, talking it over with your doctor, I am sure he would extend your leave until you are feeling yourself again and can manage your work succesfully without hurting yourself.

After Hys..Return to Physically Demanding Job
I just had my final follow up appt with my doctor yesterday. We discussed my job and that I lift up to 50 lbs a dozen or so times a day. He decided to put a restriction of 15 lbs for the first two weeks that I am back to work. He assured me that he could extend and/or adjust that if I thought I needed more time.
