48 hours to hysterectomy and counting...

Little bit anxious for surgery, BUT between 36 days of daily spotting and my period arriving 7 days early with massive clots (my uterus just had to get one last dig in), I can't wait to get it out. I'm so over it!

LAVH - 7 fibroids 2-7 cm, 14 cm uterus -- leaving ovaries

Re: 48 hours to hysterectomy and counting...

Kristi-
Just wanted to send you reassuring hugs and positive thoughts before your surgery! I'm counting down the last day myself... 23 hours to go!! We are having the same procedure... I'm also keeping my ovaries. I know I am soooo ready to be done with this!! I'm spending my last day totally pampering myself!! A long hot bubble bath, scrubbing and conditioning my hair, hubby is painting my little piggy toe nails (I'm allowed toe nail polish, I asked! LOL), and a good leg shave (no hairy stubbly legs means the nurses can't braid it while I'm out!)😜
I hope all goes well for you and I hope to hear how you're doing when you get back from the castle!!

I am 7 months post op and getting that surgery was the best thing I EVER did in my life. Y'all will LOVE being free of the monthly pain and bleeding. Good thoughts are going out for you both.

Angel - sounds like a wonderful day! I spent the last two days with my three best friends wine tasting and shopping! Taking today to do a few things around the house and grocery shop. My mom made 2 weeks of frozen meals, and my best friend comes tomorrow from 1000 miles away to stay for a week. My DH has to work, but girl time is great anyway! Everything will go great for you...prayers and hugs to you!

TSTET- thanks for the affirmation, I know it's gonna be so much better!!

❤️❤️❤️ to you both!

Thank you both for the positive thoughts! I'm a little nervous, but mostly just waiting as patiently as I can to get this done!! It's been a wonderful day so far. Going to take a short nap cuddled up with DH then pedicure time! LOL.
Kristi- enjoy your girl time! That's always so special.

Re: 48 hours to hysterectomy and counting...

The last few days before surgery I worked to stay in a positive frame of mind. Just stay focused on doing things for you. Any final preparations for coming home, packing your bag for the hospital, making a list of people you want your husband to call. Things that I loved having at hospital: lip balm, peppermint gum for nausea, small book to record notes in I asked the doctor, and a small bag with my personal toiletries: shampoo, conditioner, brush, face cream, toothbrush, etc. I had my husband bring my cell phone, but was really not up to it on the first or second day. Good luck, stay positive.

I'm there too, check in at the hospital tomorrow morning at 630 am. I am surprised at how calm I feel! We are having a bye bye uterus BBQ today, I am making a uterus cake...=) I decided to celebrate rather than be scared. =) Can't wait to "talk" to you all in the post op forum on the other side! =)
