Hi all,
Is there a possibility that you may have adenomyosis? I do, and I can tell you that the back is a killer. I found this reference in the Hyster Sisters resources and it could explain a lot:

The uterus has physical attachments to the lower back via the uterosacral ligaments, to the upper thighs through the round ligaments, and to the umbilical area through the urachus and obliterated umbilical arteries that come off the uterine arteries. Therefore many patients with a uterine source of pain may describe pain radiating to these areas. This may help differentiate uterine pain from endometriosis pain.

I hope this helps.

thanks for the info Maria! We can never learn too much!

My doctor suspects that I might have andeo, though the only test I have had was an ultra sound and it only showed a fibroid (devious little guy).

I go next week for my surgery physical and then we will set a date - since I have DUB with other problems - my doctor and I discuss my surgery more as a treasure hunt - than specific jewels. Which by the way is totally ok with me! Just make the pain go away!

Do you mind if I ask where you got that info from?

Hi grapenut,

No problem. I went to 'Resources' in the top menu (available on this page). Then I went to 'Road less traveled - Endo & adeno'. There are many resources there but I found the following most helpful. I even gave the info to some of my doctors and they found it a nice resource.

Understanding the Basics of Adenomyosis

The title listed above is toward the bottom of the list. Good luck!
