Lost until Oct 11th

I have no clue what type of surgery or when it will be until I see my specialist on Oct 11th.

I hate waiting games...
I started with a yearly GYN appointment with my Primary Doc.
She said I had an enlarged uterus.
Sent me for an ultra sound. It took almost an hour. I had the over the tummy kind and the vaginal one. Results were sent the same day to my Doc. Got phone call that it was time to see a specialist.
Had to see the RNP first. She did an uterine biopsy. ( one of the worst pain I have ever felt! Almost passed out from the pain and I am no wimp!)
Came back Non-cancer (thank, God).
She informed me that my uterus is as large as a 3-4 month pregnancy and that I will need to have my uterus out because she was pretty sure I have adenomyosis. She did say that my ovaries look good and I will keep them.
Ok now this is where I am at... waiting to see the Surgeon and get my surgery date.
I am living with daily cramps and pain that every couple days puts me in bed doubled up. It is hard because I have no outward appearance of an injury so most people do not understand that my pain is real. I am sure that my husband is tired of the phrase "I am not feeling good today". I think this is one of the hardest things I have to deal with right now. People not understanding my "Down days".

OK so there is my current story and my complaining... sigh don't mean to be a downer but needed to get that off my chest!

Re: Lost until Oct 11th

Hi,
your story is similar to mine. I have my date of 11/7/11. I had to align my schedule, my DH truck driver, the surgeon and the stars. Ok it was also an insurance issue too. But I wanted to say, I also had a biopsy and thought I was going to pass out too. OMG that was rough. I took the day off from work after that.

I too have the days that I do not feel well. I feel like a slug most days. I can hardly get through the work week. I have the cramps, pain, swelly belly. I roll over on my big belly i feel the grapefruits otherwise known as fibroids.

I hate waiting too. I find myself looking at youtube surgeries. I am reading a lot here at histersisters and other sites to be well informed.
There is lots of good support here. Stick around, it helps to talk about it with others going through the same thing.

Re: Lost until Oct 11th

I look at the you-tube videos too... LOL!
My hubby use to be a truck driver now he manages insurance company... I know big change... I work in his office and had to make sure all of my jobs were covered for when I do go in.
Everything you wrote is how I feel. Even the turning over to feel the lump of the enlarged uterus.
We might be going in around the same time... we will at least be post op together... not that I wish it on anyone but it is nice to talk to someone else going thru this...

Re: Lost until Oct 11th

My surgery is in one week! I am very nervous. I have the lumps and bumps on my belly because of the fibroids. I also have a hemmorragic cyst on my right ovary that really hurts. It has been causing pain down both my legs and all through my abdomen. I am so tired of the pain. Did anyone else experience this?
