Hysterectomy PLUS Abdominoplasty/Lipo

HI. Luvbug73 here~ I am scheduled for my hysterectomy on May 25. Not only am I doing that but I am also scheduled for an Abominoplasty (tummy tuck) and Liposuction. My only daughter is turning 14 this June and decided that if I had to go through surgery abdominally, I was going to give myself a new belly while they are there! I haven't had surgery in over 10 years and cant even think about this day without scaring the heck out of myself! I know that the end result will be fantastic (I lost 45 pounds and have the loose skin to prove it!) but I am very scared about the pain I will be in after.

I remember feeling really overwhelmed and very scared before my hyst, over 4 years ago. Thanks to the information I gathered on this site, by the time I went into the OR I was feeling a whole lot better.

Hi there! I was so happy to see your post. I, too, am giving myself the gift of a tummy tuck at the same time as my hysterectomy. I am only 5'2" and had two really big babies for my frame (both were over 7 pounds) and I have the flabby skin on my tummy and a grade 3 uterine prolapse to prove it! No fun! But I tell you, I'm just as scared about the tummy tuck as I am the hysterectomy. What about the pain? What about the inactivity? (My kids are 5 and 2!) I know that in six months I will be glad that I did it, but right now I'm just plain freaking out and half the time want to cancel everything.

Sorry. I guess I didn't really answer any questions for you. I just let you know that I'm looking at the same thing you are and I feel for you! All of my "stuff" is scheduled for June 7. I have one period left. That's just weird.

Let me know how it all goes! I'll certainly be on this site more and more in the next five and a half weeks!
