surgery tomorrow 7am so nervouse

Got a call from the doctor alittle while ago sugery is 7 have to be there 5am. Starting to get real nervous and probably won't sleep tonight.

I have been feeling alot of pressure on the left side and am starting to think that it may be one of my ovaries. Did not plan to take them out but he has to I guess it will have to be.

One thing I am feeling better about is that the pain management team will offer me an epidural before surgery and my surgeon said this is the best way to go because it lasts about 48 hours.

Did anyone recently have this with their surgery? I would love to hear about it before tomorrow because it will put my mind to ease.

Thanks

I didn't have one but if you search the site I am sure you will find the threads that talk about it...upper right hand side of the page, blue box it says Search, you can type it in there and search this site.
I have seen people mention it with good results

Re: surgery tomorrow 7am so nervouse

I have noticed a few women mention that they have had the epidural at that it was wonderful. I am not sure if that will be an option for me, I guess I will find out at preop!
Best of luck to you, I hope you are able to get some sleep tonight!
Looking forward to reading your post op!!

Good luck to you. I'm sure it will turn out fine. I had a friend tell me today that they give you really good drugs. LOL Praying for a quick recovery for you.

Re: surgery tomorrow 7am so nervouse

If you can't sleep tonight, don't worry you will get a nice drug induced nap tomorrow during surgery

Best of luck to you, it will be over before you know it and hopefully feeling better than you have in a long time.

Re: surgery tomorrow 7am so nervouse

I haven't experienced it yet, but my doctor mentioned it and said the same - that it'll keep the major pain under wraps for the first couple days... guess we'll find out soon enough!

Re: surgery tomorrow 7am so nervouse

Good luck tomorrow. I'm hoping I get an early surgery too, I'm just a day behind you. I've been having pulling pain on my left side as well and I'm not even on my period. I hope I can keep at least one ovary.

Re: surgery tomorrow 7am so nervouse

I'm right behind you...7:30am tomorrow but don't have to be to the castle until 6:15!

My doctor didn't mention an epidural but did mention morphine! I don't care what they do as long as I feel no pain.

I was very nervous until this morning...when I finally felt peace and calm overtake me. (I've been doing lots of praying...and just gave all my worries to God...makes it much easier.)

Good luck to us all!!!
