NZ gny guidance after CIN ll

Well, had my official check up, closer to 7 weeks as my doc was on holiday. Have been reading heaps of posts on this forum and the cancer concerns so thought I would add my outcome.

My gyn told me that after a diagnosis of CIN ll ( this was after cervix was removed with uterus, must make that clear!) that an annual smear of vaginal and cuff tissues is recommended for 3 years. If all these results are clear, then it is up to the individual as to whether to continue the smears, but they feel if nothing has shown in 3 years then you're clear.

I was concerned that hpv cannot be excised from body but my doc says if it doesn't show any signs of activity within 3 years it's likely that my immune system has sorted it.

So, what do you think and how does it differ from US ideas?

Personally, I think I will not make a final decision until I get to the lovely dreamed of stage of 3 clear annuals! I still feel so much depends on what the hormone levels from ovaries are up to, and my general state of health. If I get crook for a long time then I would probably want a check just to make sure the virus wasn't doing a sneak attack on my body whilst my immune system was busy.

Now I need to go post on what I was told for lifting after bladder and bowel repairs....

Best of luck to you!!
