Getting back into SEX

Hi Ladies,
I am kind of scared but my Doc told me that I could have sex after 6 weeks but my vanginal checkup isn't with my Doc until Nov 22. I was just wondering is there anything I should look out for? I mean like pain wise. Just some advice I guess. This is embrassing.... HA HA HA

Getting back into SEX

I was in the same situation, except the Dr said I could have sex when I felt ready, and didnt need to wait for her to give me the OK.

So, I made sure I had plenty of lubricating gel, a nice bottle of wine (well, a glass or so) took SO by surprise and told him I was ready - but only at the last moment in case I changed my mind.

It was 2 days before 6 weeks.

Took it slow, and I controlled the pace and 'plunge' (side) and neither of us noticed any different - well, actually I did - it didnt hurt!

No aftermath - no spotting or pain. So, it was a great night (last night actually)

Thanks that kinda answered my question.
I am 9 days post-op and already feeling deprived. I have been told to wait till after my 6 weeks check, which of course I will LOL. Well if I can hold out that long.
Any suggestions for what to do in the mean time?

Hi Girls,

My Dr. said to wait till the 6 week mark.
I just couldn't stand it and went for it at 4.
I'm not sorry.
We just took it easy.
WOOHOO!
No pain and no spotting.

Best of luck!

Woooooooo congratulations.
I think for all of us we must remember none of us are the same, and we should listen to our bodies.

Sorry, but I must disagree. When it comes to resuming sexual relations, the only one you should listen to is your doctor. Your body may think it's ready, but only your doctor can tell if you're healed.

Going against your doctor's orders in this case could result in infection, bleeding, torn vaginal cuff, or more surgery. You may hear from others that they decided to disregard their doctor's orders and there were no problems. That may be true, but why risk your health?

My dr said to wait 6 weeks. Well, i'm 6 weeks and still nervous about doing anything. I still have a lot of pain in my belly...may be just a few more days..but think I will surprise dh just out of the blue! He's been really understanding...thank goodness. Good luck to all of you.

I have no intention of going against instructions from my surgeon. But even if they say it is fine at 6 weeks, there may be some who feel they wish not to go ahead with sex. And I do think your body tells you when it is ready whether it be 6 weeks or 12 weeks listen to your body.
I have every intention as doing as I am told, no matter how hard it gets

Getting back into SEX

I am already 6 1/2 wks post op. My DH and I have been very good, though it has been difficult. Our friend who is a Consultant in this field told us of the importantance of NOT having Sexual intercourse before being given the medical go ahead.

As one of the sisters said, it is true, we are all different, and yes we think we can understand our bodies and many of us are desperate for some action but hey girls! We had MAJOR surgery.

I have my post op check tomorrow , i'm looking forward to the all clear!

Hang on in there girls, it's worth waiting for!
