3 days post op from LSH

Mickey here. Its 3 days since LSH. Took a shower this morning, took off bandages. I was afraid too 'look', ha!
Incisions okay, bruised and 'as expected'. My belly button still 'burns'...but considering what came out o there...HA!

I got rid of my headache. I stopped taking the Vicadin...and it went away 90%. I put a heating pad on my back for the back pain...and that helped as well.

I'm still very sore....and tire quickly. I'm eating...but not like I normally would.

I'm having trouble with sleeping positions. I know this may sound crazy, but when I try to lay on my 'side', it almost feels like my 'insides' 'shift'...I know, "weird, huh?" It's also painful. So I'm stuck on my back. I assume over time this too, will get better.

All in all, I'm okay.

I think I may need to order something to help support my belly area, right now, I hold a pillow to it, whenever I need to get up and move around. Any suggestions as to what would be best???

Hope all you other ladies are doing well! Each day, we WILL get a little bit better!

Re: 3 days post op from LSH

Hi I'm glad you're doing okay, I wonder if the killer headache I had for the first few days was med related? I hope you're resting and taking it easy, you're still very early in your recovery. Sleeping positions were hard for me too, I am not a back sleeper but for the first week or two I had to force myself (TAH). I think after about 3 weeks I could carefully sleep on my side if I used pillows, and yes I know what you mean about feeling like things shift around inside! I would really recommend an abdominal binder, from what I've read the one from this website is wonderful. I got one from a pregnancy clothing store and it really was my best friend for the first 4 or 5 weeks. Good luck to you hope you continue to heal well!
