preparing for surgery....

Hi everyone,
just wanted to say, I am glad I found this site. I have read so much and understand so much more.
I am having my surgery in about 3 weeks. Glad to have found a place with other women who really understand.
I am more nervous about what will happen after the surgery. How will I feel? How will I act? I am not used to being house bound.
Everyone around me has been great. Some of them have visited this site to help understand what I am going through. My sister says that if I get real bad...they will just lock me in a closet. Can you tell she is the comedian in the family.

Glad you have found us and we have been some help for you.

After surgery you may feel tired and sore for awhile and move a little slowly at first. It takes time and if you gradually do things a little as you go you will get stronger every day.

I enjoyed my time off from work. I watched movies, read novels, worked on photos, and of course spent time on the computer on this site.

It went real fast. When you are able to drive you will go out for short periods. I had friends come for lunch or bring lunch.

You will do fine. It takes about 6 weeks for the initial recovery, but I thought it was not bad at all. I took care of myself so I would heal properly so I knew I had to just resign myself as this was a long rest period.
