Sick Days Before Surgery Day, PLEASE don't postpone it

I think I've gotten some type of stomach bug. I can't keep food down and I have a low grade temp of 100.1. I'm praying to be better by tomorrow morning. I'm just nervous and don't want surgery postponed due to this. Has anyone ever had this to happen?

I think you should try contacting the doctor's answering service to see if you can notify them of how you are currently feeling. You need to make certain the surgeon and anesthesiologist honestly know how you feel so that they can make the make determination whether or not to proceed with your surgery. The team will need to know all your symptoms and your fever.


I know you may be disappointed, but your body needs to be in the best shape for surgery. You don't want to risk complications during surgery if you are not in good health.
