Probably a dumb question
I've got a question that I'm too embarrased to ask any one - I've been on Lupron shots for three months and am due for surgery on the 25th. My hair is falling out from the Lupron and it's time for a color touch-up. I have very long hair (what's left of it) and I don't want to look any more awful than I have to. Since I always feel better when my hair looks good, should I risk the chemicals for a touch-up before the surgery or grin and "bare" till I have to go back to work? It always gives me some hair loss when I color it, so I don't want to go bald and be in pain!!! Anyone got any advice?

Personally, I'd wait. It's much better to be safe than sorry.

I'd wait. Especially if you experience hair loss when you have your hair colored.

I think I would tend to agree with the others and wait, too.... be sure and ask the doctor/nurse about timeframes for *after* your surgery, too, because hair chemicals can tend to do funky things while meds are still in your system after surgery.

Why don't you get a fresh haircut? I am going to do that this week. I'm getting it cut a little early because I'm going to Mexico on Saturday for 9 days! And then I'm hosting a hysterectomy party the Saturday before the surgery! The theme is red foods and tampax necklaces, ( to use up the stash)! Keep busy and find diversions!

I am going to the castle on the 17th. I did not even think about a chemicl reaction with meds. I had my hair colored and cut yesterday--a lovely gift from my sweet mother. She feels if my hair and toes are done everything will be fine!
If you can color your heair when pregnant, why not now?
