On Estradiol A month - Vaginal and Urethral dryness still there

How long does Estriadol to kick in? My doc said it could be 6 to 12 weeks to see the effects. My vaginal area is still dry and itchy, and so is the opening of my urethra. I am a mess down in the dungeon. My hemrrhoids are flaring and was constipated from the Cymbalta I was on, bad. Back to a different med I know worked for me last year!

I am not familiar with Estriadol, is it a pill? I used to take premarin and after a few weeks I complained that it wasn't helping the vaginal dryness, she said it wouldn't and prescribed estrace - a vaginal cream, which does help.

Hi Susan,

Estriadol is Estrace. Estrace is the brand. I am now on the patch twice a week. It's confusing because I took 1 mg in the pill everyday, then my patch is .05mg and I change it twice a week so its like I am getting 1 mg a week but its the equivalent to the pill. This estrogen thing is confusing the hell outta me!!

Hi Susan,

I am a Susan too!! I am afraid of the vaginal creams. I hear it causes burning in both the vaginal area and urethral area. But again, everyone reacts different.
