LAVH 6 days post hysterectomy: My libido is through the roof!

Hello sisters!

I am 6 days post op, and I am confused. Since day two my libido is through the roof (it wasn't bad before, but this is ridiculous) and I'm just glad my lover is on the other side of the world right now.
I'd love to have him by my side as he wants to take care of me and felt bad about leaving just days after my surgery, but at the same time it would be up to him to make sure we wait while I heal and don't do anything to soon just because I feel good.
Of course, I have some pain and nausea, but I only have to think about having him next to me, or hear his voice, to almost gasp for air. I wouldn't DO anything, I'm not stupid, but I want to... oh, goodness, I want to...
He's already made it clear to me that he will not touch me until the doctor says it's ok (and I wouldn't let him, of course) and he will be very careful to make sure I don't hurt once we get started, but I'm just counting the days right now.

Is this normal? So soon after surgery?

Hey Anna, I had to laugh bc I've been dealing with a high libido too. I'm exactly 3 weeks PO today and it's still quite high. I had my ovaries out too so I hope this isn't something that will die down, lol!

Thankfully I'm not living with any eye candy bc that would make it too difficult. I will probably wait longer than what my doc says just to be safe with my vaginal cuff and all but I can't wait til I'm able. My nurses giggle at me bc they said they don't hear it much after everything has been taken out.

I still have my ovaries, so I guess this will continue... I hope!
I don't live with him, but... ****! He is the hottest man I have EVER met, and it has nothing to do with looks. There is just electricity in the air since the moment we met. The moment we touch we are transferred to another reality that is just ours. It's weird!
He is several time zones away right now (Europe vs Asia) and I just can't wait to hear his voice.

My doctor laughed at me when I told her I have to control myself and said "you know you have to, but congratulations!"

Seven days after my surgery I started harassing my poor fiance. Don't feel bad...sex is amazing, unfortunately we don't get any right now. This makes me sad. It's not just you.

I am so happy to hear this! I feel terrible when I harass him and tell him how much I want him... today I sent some dirty texts and he was like "am I responsible for us not doing something to soon? Do I have to stay away for another month?"

My libido is just now starting to calm the heck down. Of course it is. I'm most likely a week away from being released!

I think it's totally normal. I made my poor husband sleep in the guest room while I was on full pelvic rest and even outercourse wasn't allowed because I just couldn't stand it.

I was surprised by this myself. I told my husband that I am on count down because I'm going nuts. At my doctors appointment I mentioned to her how crazy my libido was and she said that's good but NOTHING inside for 6 weeks. I am looking forward to Valentine's Day because my 6 weeks is up on the 10th. I'm kind of scared because of the surgery and am worried that it will hurt or we will open up my vaginal cuff. Hubby said that we will take it easy but we both can't wait. My luck when the time comes I won't be ready anymore.

What all you ladies describe is very normal and not odd at all. My libido was through the roof too. We do have an article on it: libido surge after hysterectomy. However, my sex drive has remained just fine so long as my hormones are in good balance.
