Ok Ladies, Somtimes It Hurts If My Dh Get Carry Away. I Still
Have To Tell Him To Take It Easy. Everybody Be Careful And
Take It Slow. It Is Always Good To Ask Your Doctor First.
When I Had My Surgery My Dh Wanted Me 3 Wks Later. I Told Him
He Has To Wait. When The Time Did Come I Was So Scared Of
Pain And That I Will Not Be The Same. Everything Is Good Now.
I Am So Happy For No More Periods. Please Keep Me Posted In
Your Process And Take Care For Now.

5 weeks post-op and doing well

my doctor clearly stated that I had to wait six weeks for intercourse, not sex. I asked him like 3 times to clarify (he was laughing at this point). he said, yes!! have all the orgasms you want. they won't hurt a thing. just don't put ANYTHING inside. so at first, I took matters into my own hands to make sure it all worked fine then allowed my hubby to help and it rocked. not as good as the real thing but it sure helped diminish the cravings. good luck!!!

I'm so glad I read this thread! I just had my 6 wk post op this mornin and dr gave me the ok to have fun! woo hoo! I've been scared to death that I would hurt myself or tear if I even had an orgasm before the 6 wks was up, now I'm soooo excited about my dh getting home tonight. Making tacos for dinner, think I'll have a margarita to get relaxed and then he better watch out cuz i haven't had sex without worrying about bleeding and intense cramping in forever. I can't wait. Maybe I should call him and tell him to get off work a bit earlier. Thanks for being so open and sharing your experiences. This whole thing about sex never being good again after hyster had me really freaked out but now I've got hope. Good luck to all of you in your future endeavors, i gotta go get ready for my man to get home.

This is very true. I was cleared on the 12th to resume sex and though I always enjoyed it before, it is so much better. I was apprehensive about losing my cervix because I thought it was a source of pleasure during sex, but my doc explained it's not at all, that it's the area just before the cervix, in the vaginal tract. So what I was feeling was that, sometimes combined with discomfort (or actual pain depending on the depth of penetration) from my cervix pressing against my enlarged uterus - kind of like a pain that I thought felt good, if that makes sense. I just thought that's the way it was for me. What I've come to realize is that before hyst I had been having pleasure in spite of the pain - now it's all pure pleasure!

Hi, I'm 20 days post-op and had my first manual orgasm 2 days ago....I just wanted to see if everything still worked fine...and it was great!
My doctor told me on discharge to "put two fingers in my vagina every time I showered"...I had extensive surgery and he said it would keep me from growing shut. I was shocked but it made perfect sense!
So I guess for us TVH, A+P repair + TOT sling patients the rules are a little different!
Hope this helps! Grace

Hey Guys,
I woke up "ready" in the hospital! Imagine this: Both legs in cuffs, Blood going in one arm, Iv fluids in the other, oxygen mask, Morphine pump and me ready to rock and roll! UGH. I had a very bad time of it and almost died. Doc is making me wait SEVEN weeks before my 6 week post-op. On the night of week 2 I had a HUGE hormone explosion so I too took matters into my own hands. Slept better that night than I did in the entire two weeks. What a super relief! Now I can't wait to be released for MORE. Miss the BF way more than DH. BF is better equipt and a smoother ride, no pun intended. Sigh....

Hello ladies, I hope this is not TMI....

I was cleared yesterday for sex, however I felt it was a little too soon, as I was feeling physically uncomfortable and I think I had over done things. Hubby was so understanding, however I think tonight will be the night !!! Have changed the bed linen, got a bottle of wine chilling and have got my self psyched up.

As for taking things in my own hands so to speak !!! the first time was a bit of a none event (last week), but I think that was just me being so apprehensive, the second time a bit better and the third time was fine. It certainly feels different, I think I must have previously had some uterus/cervix "movement" in the build up to the big O which just wasn't there.

Guess its up to me to experiment !!

Good luck to all you ladies out there.

I too had the EXACT same concerns!! I'm 28 and have always been highly orgasmic. So, of course having a total hyst. made me think sex wouldn't be as pleasurable anymore. I'm only about 2 weeks post-op and my doctor just said literally, "nothing in the vagina for 6 weeks". So I'm not able to "test" anything out, but I have to say, I am definitely still desiring it VERY much. So I hope that's a good sign. I just got engaged, so I'd hate to think of starting my marriage off w/out any sex drive! Good luck to us all...

OMG thanks for sharing, this is exactly one of my concerns! I actually didn't KNOW what would happen with my cervix gone, bc I know that that been the source of pain hitting my swollen uterus, so its so close inside! I'm happy to hear for you that it is now all pleasure, gosh I can't wait, my drive is so high, higher than I ever thought it could be and I'm only 2 wks post op, a ways to go! I love the candid honesty in here, for I had all these concerns and didn't know how to address them other than with my doctor, you girls are awesome!
