help please swelly belly 12 weeks!

I asked my ob today if swelly belly was normal at my stage of recovery and she said she had never heard of it??? Well I told her I am living proof. I get up in the morning with a normal tum and within a few hours of on my feet..PRESTO CHANGEO I look 6 mo. prego! It's so depressing even more so now that my ob never heard of it. Am I just fat? I'm starting to feel like it! None of my pants fit like they use to I cant button any of them or I will swell more and it hurts.

I have gained a total of 4 pounds since surgery but thats only because of not being as active as pre op. I did have a set back at 6 weeks I had my cuff repaired due to the ob not stitching me up all the way during surgery so I was put back to rest till today, hopefully now I can start walking again and loose this extra chub.

Swelly belly is a common thing to have after abdominal surgery and it always surprises me when doctors say they have never heard of it. Then again, they don't come home with us to see what happens during our recoveries, and office visits are pretty quick for the most part.
