Pre op Appt today

I am scheduled for a LAVH on June 19th. I went for my pre-op appt today. This is how my DR described it to me. The surgery will take between and 1 and 1 1/2 hours. She goes in through my beely button and one or two small incisions on my bikini line, detaches my ovaries from the liagaments snatches the whole lot out through my vagina, I get a room, catheter out by evening, maybe dinner if I feel like it, one maybe 2 days in castle, home and hopefully driving in a week or so. Does this ever really happen this smooth? Oh and the best thing is no prep like enemas and all the stupid stuff like that that I have been the most worried about. HRT will start immediately. Small dose and will be increased if necessary. I am very cool with this DR. I went through a semi difficult pregnancy with her and Nurse Nancy and I feel comfortable with both of them getting me through this. Has anyone had a really good experience having this proceedure? I read alot of posts about things not going quite so well and was just wondering.

I am having my pre-op appt. tomorrow. I am a bit nervous. My trip to the castle is on 6/10/2003. I hope it goes as well as your Dr. described for all of us. My mom-in-law went to the castle a few months ago for an emergency H , everything could not have gone smoother so there is hope. I have endimetriosis and just found out that the one ovary they were talking about saving has a BIG cyst on it, so tomorrow I find out if we still try to save it or not. I too am having a LAVH, so hopefully no enima needed here either, just to gross to think about. Best wishes to you.
