The Big "O"
I'm 34, had lapro last Monday, everything out but the ovaries. It was only until after the surgery that I realized that some women can no longer have orgasms. What is your experience with that?

Re: The Big "O"
Still capable here -- most women seem to be. Some say that they feel different, most often women who enjoyed the uterine contractions that were part of the sensation for them before surgery. Other women felt that those contractions were painful and don't miss them a bit.
Women who had adenomyosis sometimes find sex acutely painful since their inflamed cervix hurt like mad when it got bumped during sex, and having everything taken out means that they are enjoying themselves for the first time in a long while. Other women, like me, don't feel any difference whatsoever.
You will hear some stories of women with complications, but for now, I wouldn't worry. In fact, it's not unheard of for the ovaries to "revv up" a bit after surgery. Quite a few women, myself included, end up with what amounts to "wet dreams" or very close for a few months after surgery while the ovaries adjust to their new blood supply.

Yep! LOL
I am not past the 8 week point yet, so intercourse for me. But I was glad to know things were still 'working' down there.

Re: The Big "O"
I am SO curious about that. My surgery was yesterday, so I have a bit to find out. But sex was becoming very painful for me as the days went on. I hope and pray my orgasms are the same or better. This was probably my main concern going into the surgery.

Re: The Big "O"
Interesting... I'm curious how sex will be... I'm only two weeks out so I've got a ways to go.
I've always had some pain during intercourse (tilted uterus, swollen uterus).
Love the idea that it could be better.

Re: The Big "O"
I waited 12 weeks before intercourse, but six weeks for outercourse. And I must say, the big O is better than ever! It takes me less time to gt there too! I think there was so much bad stuff going on in there before surgery, it was blocking the happy vibes from going though. Very happy girl, here! Hope it will be the same for you!

Re: The Big "O"
For me, The Big O is way more intense! I also feared that things wouldn't be right down there, wishing you well! 😃

Re: The Big "O"
I had the uterine contractions before so now my orgasms are really shallow and disappointing in comparison.
On the good side, natural lubrication is the same and DH says sex feels the same for him.
