Still tired after 5 months?

Hello Hyster Sisters,
I had a TAH on 5/11/05. I healed very well with no complications.
Lately, I have been extremely tired( similiar to 3 weeks post op). Has this happened to anyother ladies?

I work full time, home, family, church, etc. However, this fatigue at 5 months is a bit of a surprise to me.
Please let me know your thoughts!
Have a wonderful day!

Still tired after 5 months?

Skyelady:
The fatigue that you describe is really pretty normal. I have learned from the sisters here that it can take up to or over a year to completely heal, and now being over a year post-op, I know they are right. Have you been to see your doc lately?? Maybe you should make an appt. just to make sure nothing else is going on..
hugs to you

Possible reason for long-term fatique

I haven't had my surgery yet (it's in a week), so I am not speaking from personal experience, but I just talked to my next door neighbor today. She is the dean of nursing at the university where I work, and she said to expect to feel tired for as long as 3 to 6 months because of the long-term effects of the anesthesia. So that may be a contributing factor. I hope you are back to full energy soon.

Still tired after 5 months?

I had a complete hysterectomy Jun 24th, 2005 and I still have days when I feel totally drained. I still don't have the energy I used to. I wish you many blessings on your upcoming surgery.

Still tired after 5 months?

I had my surgery June 7 and I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who still gets those "hit the wall" days. Most days I feel so good that I don't remember that I'm still technically healing and I find myself wondering what I did to get so tired. Then I remember, and I allow myself a nap!
