5 days post total hysterectomy plus removal of both ovaries: How soon did you start feeling hormone problems?

I had LAVH w/ BSO 12/29. So far I am feeling alright just really sore and tired. I was wondering how soon after having ovaries removed did other's start feeling problems from the hormones? Did the hot flashes and other symptoms start right away? Just wondering if maybe my body is adjusting alright or if it really doesn't start yet....

I had a few symptoms but they didn't start till 2 weeks out. I really don't have a lot of systems now, so hopefully I will,fly thru it.

I had symptoms a few hours after surgery, had heart palpitations so they ruled out everything else then started me on estrogen.
So 5 days out is really good not having symptoms but keep an eye out for them and write anything down for your doc.

As you can see it really varies among women. I had hot flashes and night sweats the night after my surgery. Other women don't begin to feel symptomatic until several weeks past surgery. One reason for the difference is that our bodies store estrogen which we use up after surgery. We begin with different symptoms too. Some have hot or cold flashes, others get weepy, others get grumpy, and a lucky few never feel a thing. It's all very individual. You'll have to wait and see.

Thanks ladies! I know we're all different but it's nice to here from others on their experience I'm hoping in one of the lucky ones but I guess I will have to wait and see lol.
