dVH/RALH 2-week Post Hysterectomy Appointment

So today I had my post op appointment. He said things were healing well but no intercourse for 8 more weeks. That seems excessive but I'm not going to challenge his expertise. Lol.

I had to wait 8 weeks, as I was healing a little slower than normal.

I did heal perfectly, and it was worth the wait!

Yanno, I was cleared at 4 weeks (I kept my cervix, no vaginal cuff), but I still waited a while longer - still too tender, and more than a bit nervous about resuming!

My surgeon made me wait twelve weeks. It was worth the wait. The important thing is that you give yourself time to heal.

Waiting 12 weeks is probably a good thing. I don't want to take any chances. I may wait longer just to be safe. At this point I feel too scared anyway.

Its best to follow your Drs advice.. Youve made it thru so much, thus far w recovery & a set back would put you thru unnecessary frustrations.. Do you have another Dr appointment for a 6 or 8 week post op exam? If you have another exam, your Dr may change date for sooner.
