pain peeing (11 days post hysterectomy) no vag pain but pain in the bladder

hello, I'm new, I and 11 days post op total Lap, I have been having pain peeing but not like infection pain more of a gut pain like it hearts my bladder to let go... no before this I could barely hold my pee now its a little bit of a struggle to get going...anyone have this occur?

Also, I have weight questions about post hyst.. and thyroid condition. I'm desperate to lose weight.. have gained almost 60 lbs in the last 4 years.. its awful.. I'm not sure if anyone has any luck losing weight after surgery or if its worse.. I can't imagine it being more of a struggle..

anyway, let me know if you've experience either of these. look forward to "meeting" everyone.

Re: pain peeing (11 days post surgery) no vag pain but pain in the bladder

Hey!
Peeing - yes i still have a little strange sensation 3 weeks after surgery. Feels like i nearly have the start of a bladder infection. But doc tells me its just after moving the bladder/catheter etc... it gets a little grumpy! Takes a few weeks to settle down - as does our bowels. I take a glass of cranberry juice every morning - not sure if its helps or not?
Weight - i have the opposite and lost too much weight over my thyroid too! During surgery i looked anorexic and it was terrible! I could feel the stares as i walked around etc...
Walking is an excellent form of exercise - i was walking 1 week after surgery and now walking up to 1hr 3 weeks after. I've been overweight also thanks to hormones and i found no matter how hard i walked it took ages to shift the weight. Maybe contact a naturopath and have your thyroid/hormone levels tested? I now exercise every single day - sometimes twice a day. And diet - i no longer eat sugar/caffeine and lower carb intake nor do i snack between meals. Its all paying off finally! I think in my early 40's is cancer risk for me so cutting out anything that can feed it and its helping my diet also!
Good luck to you!!!!

Re: pain peeing (11 days post surgery) no vag pain but pain in the bladder

thank you!!!. I am relatively hopeful about the weight, because I'll finally feel better, I just got back my results from my latest change of thyroid meds (I've been on them for 20 years)..and I am alllll out of whack... so back to the endocrinologist I go.. not sure why they fluctuate on medication soo much I take armour thyroid and my tsh and t3 have gone completely haywire in the last couple of years.. up down up down UP...DOWN.. its such a pain in the...well thyroid..
but, I'll keep up with the excersise.. I am low carb diet but the caffeine for me is killllller..
and sugar in my coffee/tea..but not too many sweets.. never really been a sweet eater, more of a salty eater.. anyway. thanks for the reply especially about the more important part on the bladder, They did take a tumor off my bladder, bowel and my left ovary...so I feel like its just a lot of healing... (all came back negetive for cancer). so I'll just keep plugging and walking and healing. THANK YOU!

Re: pain peeing (11 days post hysterectomy) no vag pain but pain in the bladder

Hello - Day 13 here. I don't have that pulling sensation but I do have an irritated feeling in my bladder that started the last few days. I think it's normal. Hope it's just all part of everything reconnecting itself in there. I imagine inflammation levels are up in general.

I'm not far enough out post-op to say about the weight and I do not have a thyroid issue but I am a health coach and help women of all ages each month reach their goals and get started on healthy routines. Whenever you're dealing with hormones it can be so tricky! You have to plug along just like usual, though: eat a clean diet, hydrate well, and when you're recovered and cleared to do so move a little bit each day. Nutrition is about 80% of the typical battle so anything you can reign in there will help! I'm hoping to keep some extra pounds at bay by watching my portions. I hope that helps!
