OK, this might sound wierd, but, when do you get to shower after you're surgery?

shower?

I had surgery on Thursday, then showered on Saturday morning. I was not up and about until the afternoon on Friday and I really wasn't feeling like being up long enough for a shower until Saturday. Of course after a shower each day for the first week or so, it was back to bed for a nice long nap. I would say it would depend on how steady you are on your feet.

shower?

Hi Angelicdore,
I suspect you'll get a variety of answers to this. In my instance I was offered the opportunity to take a shower in the hospital the day after my surgery but didn't do so until the day after that. Just didn't feel up to it right away. When I did shower in the hospital I only washed from the shoulders down (I was using a hand held shower head) because I didn't think I would have the energy to wash and dry my hair. My surgery was a LAVH.
Hope this info helps!

shower?

I'm not sure how much different I'm gonna feel after this than I did after my c-sections, but after them I showered the next day.
I do have a high tolerance for medical pain though. When it comes to other stuff like getting a scrape or something I'm a big wuss though! lol

shower?

I had surgery on Wed am and showered Thurs am. There was a shower chair and a hand held shower-head. My DH installed a similar shower-head at home for me also. I felt well enough to shampoo and condition my hair and since I was seated I could reach all of my body and rinsing was a breeze with the shower head, I would turn the faucet to the tub spout while soaping or shampooing and then turn it back to the shower head for rinsing.

shower?

I had surgery on Monday, and was allowed to shower on Tuesday, as soon as they removed the IVs. The nurse got my shower ready and helped me out of my hospital gown, and waited for me to get through. She left the door open, and told me to take my time. I kept my bak to the shower spray, and felt great once it was through.
