Dwelling on giving up giving birth

Hi and welcome!

There is no need to apologize....your emotions and choice aren't any easier because you have had a biological child! It's really hard to accept all the implications of this surgery.

But you are very correct...there are many ways to grow a family. I am very blessed to be the mother of a beautiful daughter who we adopted at birth. The idea that she is not genetically related to me couldn't be more irrelevant, and I never minded that I wouldn't give birth. I wanted to be a parent...and I am.

There are many children here and around the world who need loving mothers....don't give up your dreams because of some missing parts.

If you want to explore your emotions on this subject more fully, I urge you to visit our Aching Hearts forum. It's a great place to find comfort with others in the same position.

I wish you peace with whatever decision you make!!

Dear Misty,

I am mom of two daughters (one adopted & one homemade)... some day they will bring home the sons my DH always wanted.

Just as your sons will bring you daughters some day.

Sending huge cyberhugs
