4th week post hysterectomy - stomach pain

I drove and went grocery shopping yesterday and since last night, I've had a pain all across my stomach from left to right. Any ideas? Initial follow up was one week in and next with full exam is set for April 7th. Don't want to call the doc if I don't have to.

Re: 4th week - stomach pain

If you're not needing meds or nothing stronger than an anti-flammatory it sounds like it might've been a bit too much for the afternoon. There's pushing the cart, lifting groceries, and depending on how long the trip was a good bit of walking. I also had less invasive surgery (laparo) and noticed whenever I'd do something for the first time post-op I'd swell more, cramp a little or feel achy across my surgery area.

It helps to understand healing. We tend to view healing as the scar tissue which first formed getting stronger over time, but that's not the case at all. Instead, earlier scar tissue gets replaced throughout healing by newer scar tissue, and the earlier stuff dissolves. That's when we're likely to feel twinges and zingers. Too, if we've stepped up our activities, the inflammation can increase.

If it's an unbearable pain or you notice any serious bleeding, give your doctor a call. Otherwise, prop your feet up and rest for the day. Remember to rest between activities, too. For now, it may be better to make smaller grocery trips more often, get help loading them, and offload them a few at a time.

Thank you for your response. I agree that I did too much that day. And the next day, I had to push a loveseat away from a water heater because I had smelled a faint scent of gas. Today, I woke up feeling good. By this afternoon, I started cramping and have light, bright red blood when I wipe. Is this normal or could this be caused from moving the loveseat?
