Bleeding 3 weeks post hysterectomy
I went back to work Wednesday my pain increased and I took my narcotics at night pain was bad. Today I was constipated and after going I bled a little bit from my Vagina. I put a pad in nothing on pad. But every time I pee and wipe there's a bit of blood. Should I be concerned? I was told if more than one pad an hour yes. I never bled until today. Scared don't know what to do vagina also feels soar

Re: Bleeding 3 weeks post op
A couple things could be going on. First of all stitches begin to dissolve during weeks three to four (generally), and that sometimes comes with a bit of blood. That happened to me. Second, you started going back to work and it caused pain. That's your body's way of saying, I want you to rest, or hey, that's not completely healed yet. Sometimes when we overdo, we may have a bit of bleeding and soreness or pain. It doesn't sound like you are anywhere near filling a pad in an hour. It doesn't sound like you have bled enough to fill a pad at all. Here's what I suggest. If possible, take more time off. If not, then try to work fewer hours. If that's not possible, try to rest as much as possible when not working. You still have a lot of healing to do to get through the initial stages of healing. Also, give your doctor a call and just let him/her know what's going on and that you have had a lot of pain after working and some bleeding. Your doctor will be able to tell you if it is anything is wrong and better advise you because your doc is the only person who knows exactly what was done inside. Generally speaking though, your story sounds about right on par for your stage of recovery. Mine was similar.
