Got my arrival time

Hospital just called. I have to be there at 0515 tomorrow morning. My surgery is scheduled to start at 0730. Sounds like a lot of time to prep for surgery and to tell 755 people why I'm there and what my DOB is. lol

Re: Got my arrival time

I hear ya...mine is also scheduled for 0730 (Aug 5) and I have to arrive at 0530. The scheduler told me I'll be first that morning so there's no possibility of having to anxiously wait extra time if the surgery before mine took longer than expected. I told her I just wanted to make sure my doc wasn't still half asleep and in need of a caffeine fix when he started. She assured me he jumps in wide awake and ready to go....best of luck to you and hopes for a speedy recovery

Mine is July 23 and I have to be there at 6. I'm also glad im the first one in the morning. Getting nervous and wish it was just over. Praying for those who have surgeries tomorrow to have a good night's sleep.

Re: Got my arrival time

I'm having surgery tomorrow morning also. First one of the day, and have to be there a 530 am. Loved your comment about telling 755 people your date of birth. Funny and true. Best wishes for you tomorrow.

Re: Got my arrival time

They do keep you busy with questions and bloodwork, paperwork, vitals and such for the most part - then your in and out before you know it. But..sometimes, they do have an emergency pop up. I had to be there at 7:30, and started the whole prep thing only to be told about 9:00 "sorry, but a last minute emergency came in and it's going to be a while before we get you in to the OR. You are next on deck though". (Guess I should be grateful that I wasn't an emergency!) Luckily the little pre-pre op room we were stuck in was equipt with a TV that had free movie access on it. So me and my sisters watched part of a movie before I was taken back to the real prep room at around 11, thats where I talked to the anesthesiologist and was given some relaxing drugs. Finally at noon I was wheeled into the OR. Was in Recovery by 2:15/2:30 and back to my normal room by 3. So..other than that tiny snafu, it was all relatively fast. Here's to wishing you have no emergencies, sucessful surgeries and even better recoveries!! PS.....it's been 12 days for me and I'm doing great!! You will too!

Re: Got my arrival time

Good luck to all the Princesses heading off to the Castle tomorrow! You will be thanking yourself in no time for making this decision..my TAH was 7/9 and im doing great! Went in on Tuesday at 5:30 am and surgery at 7 (said 7:30) but went early, I was happy to be the first, over and done!!!

I wish I could magically calm your nerves but you will have them anyway, just want to say you are all strong women (being women) and you can do anything this is no different, just follow all orders and things will go great!

HUGS and POSITIVE thoughts along with prayers to you all! See ya on the other side
