a suggestion for all of us w/ surgery brains

I too am most ed coming here and reading and doing nothing else. My DH even asked today if I was going to spend all day on here again today(we were just hit by Hurricane Dennis), I didn't realize how much I was on here until he said that. FLylady is a "program" that I have been following since last Sept. She has changed my life . I have been OFF the program for a few weeks since I found out about my hyster. I decided right then to begin again and get back on the flylady wagon. This is a free online(w/ email reminders) program for helping you simplify cleaning and decluttering your home, ONE baby step at a time. For those of us 5 or more weeks off, we can simply follow her program and have our house detail cleaned by the time our surg arrives. For those less than five weeks out, you could modify her suggestions and have a sparkling house usually in just 15-30 min a day. I am really not joking, I was able in just over a month to fully change my home and the way I think about housekeeping, used to resent it, now I realize I do it to bless my family and not to make my family proud of me. I am proud of myself!! I know that returning to her program is the only way I can cross anything off my list without waiting until 2 or 3 days before my surg, and my home will be near spotless, baseboards, fans, and all.

If you are interested here is her web site. www.flylady.com

HTH even one of my sisters as it has helped me. Angela

Amazing! For me, that would be a miracle. Of course it's too late for me to do this before my surgery ( have to be at the castle in a little over 7 hours) but this sounds great! I will definitely check it out. Thanks!

flylady

Hi, I'm 4 wks post op. I saw something about flylady in a magazine. I got the book and was all hyped up, but like everything else I didn't finish the book or follow through. I can never stay on track. Hopefully I can get into the book and try to bless my family, cuz the good lord knows they need the blessing. We live in chaos.

Thanks for the tip! I am about 6 weeks Pre-Op and am starting to panic about surgery. I want to get everything in order before surgery, and the week before surgery I will be on vacation, so I feel I am running out of time, QUICKLY! This website will give me something to keep my mind off things. Maybe I can even get the kids to pitch in!

Susan, not that her book is not wonderful, but her web site and wonderful email reminders that remind us of our daily routines are wonderful. You could get started tomorrow and slowly read the book later, I plan on reading it Eventually, lol.

Ree right now she is doing a fun summer camp, from home, to get our kids involved and show them and ourselves it can be fun to get the house clean and organized and help others in our family. It's called Camp GonnaWannaFly.

So glad sharing this helps someone. Angela

Hi! I discovered FlyLady about a year ago. I haven't stuck with it as much as I would like, but I sure like having a shiny-sink!
